FAQs

Do you shoot large weddings?

Unfortunately, no. I only shoot elopements or small weddings of around 50 guests. These weddings are usually no longer than two hours start to finish.
You can choose to have just the photographer (me) or you can choose to have both my husband and I. He'll officiate the wedding to help take one less hassle out of planning. He's pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

Your session prices are much higher than they used to be. Why is that?

Simply put: Life experience.
I've been shooting professionally for 10 years and have the natural ability of capturing genuine emotion. I love to tell stories through my imagery and families truly get meaningful artwork when working with me. If you want cookie cutter-style images I'm probably not the photographer for your family.
Evoking emotion is what I strive for when people look at my work. I want the session to feel like a fun moment in time versus just another annual photoshoot.
I am a wife and mom to two teens now and have experience in those life arenas. I completely 100% understand and remember the baby, toddler, and little kid days. They were both beautiful and traumatizing. Beautifully traumatizing, one could say. Parents never have to feel guilty for their kids acting like kids!

Do you offer discounts and/or payment plans? How can I pay you?

Yes! Returning clients will always receive a 10% discount. If you'd like to split the payments in any way I offer that as well. All payments must be paid prior to the session date. I accept cash, check, or I have PayPal and Venmo. Easy peasy.

What can I expect during the session?

Expect to have fun with your family and to try and act like I'm not there. I want to capture the chaotic, candid fun that is family. We can get one or two "look at the camera and say cheese!" pictures but those aren't as fun and who likes fake smiles? Gimme all the giggles and laughter and silliness.
Let your kiddos play and explore and get dirty. Couples, don't be shy. Get handsy and whisper sweet nothings in each other's ears. All I want is for my clients to have FUN while I capture the genuineness of it all.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions are typically an hour long. (Beach, extended family, events, and weddings are often longer.) Mini sessions are about 20-30 minutes long.

How long do I have to wait for the completed session?

I tell clients two weeks to be safe as I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and life is always happening. Nine times out of ten, though, I can finish a session in less time.

Do I have to order prints through you?

You do not but I cannot recommend it enough. My prints are very affordable and some of the highest quality out there. Printing your sessions from local chain stores would be a great disservice to your time and money spent on the session along with the great memories made.

How are galleries delivered?

The whole process is very simple and hassle-free. At no extra cost to you, your completed gallery will be uploaded to this website. I will then e-mail you the gallery where you can download the images to your computer and/or order high-quality prints directly from the gallery. (I highly, highly recommend this option.)

I have babies/young kids. How should I expect them to act?

Please expect your babies and/or kids to act like babies and kids. I do not under any circumstances expect that age group to sit still and say cheese for an hour. Never.
Babies cry. It happens! If the session is extended because the baby needs fed or is just fussy I will never charge extra. Babies are gonna baby.
Toddlers and little kids are actually some of my favorite clients because their smiles, laughter, and pure joy are just so great when given the opportunity to be unleashed.
As mentioned previously, we will of course get the whole family in one shot but I want to capture your children exploring their surroundings, running, playing, being silly...being kids. I have shot sessions where parents try and make their kids sit still and smile the whole time and it's never fun.
Put those kids on your shoulders, give piggy back rides, hold hands while walking and studying the nature around you, let the kids tumble and pick flowers. Bubble machines are always a hit. Have a picnic! Anything to get the family together and happy and having FUN.

How many images are delivered? Do you edit all of them?

I individually edit all the images and do not sell the RAW (unedited) images to clients.
For mini sessions, clients will receive a minimum of 15 images. Regular sessions, clients receive a minimum of 25 images, and for weddings, events, and extended family sessions the minimum amount of images given is 50.

What kind of gear do you use?

I use a Nikon D750 with a 35mm 1.4 Sigma Art lens and a Nikon 85mm 1.8. That's it! Simplicity all the way.

What was your former business name?

My previous business name was Thirty7 Photography. (Some of my older work has watermarks with that name-they're not stolen images!) The number 37 has deep meaning to my family and I but I felt a change was needed in the re-launching of my business.

If you have any other questions at all or feel you're ready to book (or both!), click, "Book a Session" below to e-mail me and I will gladly answer anything.
